The Oxford English Dictionary defines "Football" as Any of a number of games played between two teams and involving kicking or in some cases handling a ball (either before the development of specific codified forms, or subsequently as a generic term for those forms collectively)      

Good job we all know that it's really Phenglish for "AN EXCUSE FOR FANTEASY"                      

Whether you're new to the game or you've played in previous years, this is a competition for all; 

• old/young
• men/women/other
• intellectuals/idiots
• humans/smitherses                         

It's as straight forward as this…

Players must pick some teams from some pools (which the organisers have determined with the help of ladbrokes.co.uk)

Those teams score some points.  Some of them will lose some points

NEW for 2026 - THE NUMBER SPECIAL -  bonus points are available for picking two numbers

Make sure you include the kids, we don’t want them to miss out!

If there is anyone who I have missed off the group, please would you let me know so I can invite them

Entry to the competition is GBP 5  and there’s a link to pay with on the website

In 2026 we have been utterly blessed with a SUMMER closing party and this year it'll be held at my house                                                                                                               

Food will be served but you'll need to bring your own alcohol (and softies for the kids)

We'll kick the party off at 16:00 and the "Football" World Cup Final will kick off at 20:00

Make sure you indicate your acceptance on the application form.  It would be great if you can make it!
